Man shot to death in Costco parking lot after domestic dispute, the NOPD says

A man was found dead in the Costco parking lot on Sunday evening (Feb. 20) after a domestic dispute turned deadly, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At around 7 p.m., Joseph Sandoval was shot in the parking lot at 3900 Dublin St. He was on the ground with a gunshot wound when Second District officers arrived, and medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene. Sandoval was 44.

Man stabbed to death inside Hollygrove home

The NOPD is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Tuesday (Feb. 1) in Hollygrove.. At around 9:25 p.m., NOPD Second District officers responded to a house in the 8700 block of Apricot Street for a domestic disturbance call. Upon arrival officers found a man inside the home suffering from multiple stab wounds.  The New Orleans Emergency Medical Service pronounced him dead at the scene. Police seeking vehicle used in New Year’s Eve homicide

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle of interest in the investigation of a homicide on Dec. 31 in the 7900 block of Oleander Street. Corey Brown was struck in the back by a bullet in Gert Town, near Earhart Boulevard, when a gunman opened fire. Medical responders took Brown to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died. He was 21.

Before the New Year begins, two men killed in separate Uptown shootings

Two men were killed in separate Uptown shootings on Friday afternoon (Dec. 31). The first deadly shooting occurred at about 1 p.m. on Martin Luther King Boulevard and South Prieur Street. Gunfire erupted from a vehicle driving through the area — striking a 56-year-old woman, 27-year-old man and 26-year-old man. Medical responders took Kenyon Coston, 27, to the hospital, where he died of gunshot wounds.

Man shot to death in Central City

A man was shot to death Wednesday (Dec. 22) in Central City. At about 8:30 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at Washington and Loyola avenues. Upon arrival, officers found Lawrence Algere Jr. lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. Algere was declared deceased at the scene.

Man is beaten to death in Leonidas neighborhood, NOPD says

Anthony Grana, 51, was fatally beaten on Tuesday (Dec. 14) in the Leonidas neighborhood. The New Orleans Police Department learned of his death on Thursday (Dec. 16), according to an NOPD email. It is being investigated as a homicide.

Man shot to death near Pontchartrain Hotel

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday afternoon (Dec. 10) in Central City near St. Charles Avenue. Just before 3 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 1600 block of Josephine Street. They discovered Halston Hayes suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds.

Man found shot to death on porch in Hollygrove; NOPD arrests woman accused of killing him in domestic dispute

A man was shot to death Saturday morning (Dec. 4) in Hollygrove, the New Orleans Police Department reported. Police reported Sunday that a woman was arrested in the killing. Second District officers responding to a report of gunfire in the 3100 block of Mistletoe Street found Lorenzo Cortez, lying on a front porch at about 11:25 a.m. He was unresponsive and had sustained a gunshot wound. Medical responders declared him dead at the scene.

Teenager shot to death in Hoffman Triangle

A 19-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday night (Nov. 30) in the Hoffman Triangle neighborhood, the New Orleans Police Department reported. NOPD Sixth District officers responded to shots fired in the 3800 block of Washington Avenue just before 9:10 p.m. Officers discovered Darrell Catchings, 19, with a gunshot wound. Medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
