Perfect Gentleman’s one-man second line to roll with pride New Year’s Day

Perfect Gentlemen Social Aid and Pleasure Club president Travis Lyons will be the lone member of his club Sunday to roll from Canal Street through Central City and into Broadmoor, but with the support of the TBC Brass Band, Lyons plans to carry the day in style, reports Gambit’s Red Cotton. Lady Rollers to second-line Saturday through Uptown

The Lady Rollers will take a long lap Saturday up Tchoupitoulas and around Louisiana Avenue, starting the second-line at Tipitina’s at noon and ending there four hours later. The One Mind Brass Band will provide music, and the the Partyline Steppers, the Camel Toe Steppers and the Pussyfooters will all be participating. Lady Buckjumpers, three brass bands to second line Sunday from Central City to Hollygrove.

The Original Lady Buckjumpers and three of their favorite brass bands will make a long tour of several Uptown New Orleans neighborhoods at their second-line Sunday, according to a route map at Offbeat.com. Led by the Rebirth, Stooges and Young Fellaz brass bands, the parade begins at noon at A.L. Davis Park on LaSalle Street, makes a quick loop through the Milan neighborhood, then heads out Washington Avenue and up Earhart Boulevard to end in Hollygrove.

Prince of Wales to second line Sunday down Magazine, through Garden District, Irish Channel, Central City

Second-line season returns to Magazine Street on Sunday when the Prince of Wales and Lady Wales clubs put on their 83rd annual second line through the Irish Channel and Garden District. From email:

This year’s parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Young Men Olympian Junior Benevolent Association Hall, 2101 South Liberty Street, then loops over to Louisiana Avenue, down South Claiborne and Martin Luther King Boulevard, before ending where it started.
