A large Uptown home that has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina will be demolished with enthusiastic approval from both its neighbors and the city after a brief hearing Tuesday afternoon.
Two Uptown addresses on one block – 1222 Leontine St. and 5338 Perrier St. – are slated for public hearings before the city’s Neighborhood Conservation District Committee at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the city planning commission conference room on the ninth floor of the Amoco Building, 1340 Poydras St. The committee oversees demolition applications in the city, and Tuesday’s hearings are the public’s opportunity to comment on the properties.
