Woman’s phone snatched by kids on bus on Washington Avenue, police say

A woman riding an RTA bus on Washington Avenue had her cell phone snatched from her hand by a group of kids getting off at a stop Tuesday evening, New Orleans police said.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, was sitting on RTA Bus 211 at Washington Avenue and South Rocheblave Street shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, and texting on her phone.

“A group of juveniles exited the bus and one of the subjects snatched the victim’s phone from her hand and fled,” the report states.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
