Homicide detectives have arrested one woman on a murder charge in a fatal October shooting on Jackson Avenue, and they have identified a suspect in a November killing on Foucher Street, New Orleans police said.

Nicole Williams, 41, was arrested Thursday on a charge of second-degree murder in the Oct. 15 shooting death of Charmaine Scott, according to a NOPD news release. Scott’s body was found face down on the sidewalk near Jackson Avenue and Clara Street with gunshot wounds to the head around 10:30 a.m. that morning, police said at the time.

Williams was subsequently identified by Homicide Detective Robert Barrere as the suspect, and she was located and arrested on Thursday, the report states.

Meanwhile, Bryan “Butter” Rogers has been identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Russell Frank at Foucher Street and Loyola Avenue, police said in a separate news release. Frank was found with fatal gunshot wounds around 4 p.m. Nov. 11, and he died at the hospital, police have said.

Detectives are still looking for an unidentified person of interest who may have more information about the same case as well, the release states.
