Two women were robbed at gunpoint on Baronne Street by a man on a bicycle early Thursday, New Orleans police said.

The victims — two women in their 20s — were in the 1200 block of Baronne Street (near Clio) around 1:20 a.m. when they were accosted by a man on a bicycle, according to the initial NOPD report.

“The perpetrator produced a black handgun and demanded money,” the report states. “The victims complied and the perpetrator fled eastbound with a wallet and some cash.”

The women ran to the 1700 block of Baronne Street (near Felicity) to call police, said NOPD spokeswoman Dawne Massey.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
