Two people were victims of armed-robbery attempts along the Magazine Street corridor on Sunday, New Orleans police said.

Around 4:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, a 25-year-old man sleeping in a vehicle near Camp and Jena streets was awakened by four armed assailants demanding his belongings, according to the initial NOPD report. He handed over what he had, but they refused it and left, the report states.

Around 12:30 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was in the 2000 block of Magazine Street (near St. Andrew) when two men approached her, according to the report in that case. One held a gun while the other demanded her money, but she refused, throwing her bag and running away, the report states.

Further details were not immediately available in either case. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
