Two injured in shooting on South Liberty Street, police say

A man and a woman were both injured in a shooting Sunday evening on South Liberty Street, New Orleans police said.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, gunfire between two men was reported in the 1800 block of South Liberty (near Felicity Street), according to the initial NOPD report. A 28-year-old woman realized she’d been hit and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the report states, and another man showed up at the hospital in a private vehicle shortly afterward.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
