New Orleans police are looking for a real-life Grinch this holiday season after a would-be burglar wearing the Christmas-stealing character on his T-shirt was caught on surveillance video last week trying to break into a Baronne Street home, authorities said.

The suspect, who appears to be in his late teens, was caught on security camera trying to get into the back door of a home in the 2900 block of Baronne (near Sixth Street) around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, according to a NOPD news release.

He is now a suspect in other break-ins nearby, according to the NOPD report.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
