A man with a gunshot wound Wednesday night on Pear Street in the Dixon neighborhood told investigators he was actually injured in a shooting in the Seventh Ward, New Orleans police said.
The 57-year-old victim called police from a home in the 8900 block of Pear Street around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, according to the initial NOPD report. He told police that he had been somewhere on Law Street in the Seventh Ward when 15 to 20 shots rang out, so he took the bus home to call police, the report states. He was then taken to the hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound, the report states.
