Man shot multiple times in Fontainebleau area

A man was shot multiple times Wednesday on the edge of the Fontainebleau neighborhood, the New Orleans Police Department reported.

A 29-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk just after 1 p.m. on April 17 at Broadway and Colapissa streets, near Earhart Boulevard, when an older model gray car carrying a man and a woman drove by.

The passenger begin shooting at the victim and chased him down to the driveway of 3108 Broadway, where he collapsed with several gunshot wounds to the torso.

The victim, who will turn 30 on Friday, was transported to a local hospital by EMS.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 504-658-6020 to speak to a detective, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
