One man was robbed of his wallet at gunpoint Monday night and, about three blocks away along Josephine Street, another had his car taken by an armed robber who allowed him to retrieve his instruments first, New Orleans police said.

Around 9:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, a man in his 50s was confronted by two men armed with semi-automatic handguns near Josephine Street and Rev. John Raphael Way, according to the initial NOPD report.

“Both subjects pointed their guns at the victim and demanded his property,” the report states. “The victim complied and the perpetrators fled with his wallet.”

About 45 minutes later, a man in his 30s was sitting inside his car in the 2000 block of South Saratoga (between St. Andrew and Josephine) when a man with a revolver approached, the report in that case states. The gunman demanded the car, but let the victim get his instruments out of it before driving off, the report states.

The car is a gold 1995 Toyota Previa with license plate ZGB 848.
