After a Tulane student was kidnapped from Broadway Street early Sunday by a man demanding sex from her, New Orleans police have released a sketch of the suspect in hopes the public can help identify him.

The woman was walking near Broadway and Freret around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, when a silver vehicle pulled up, and the driver got out and forced her into the back seat, telling her he had a gun, police have said.

“The victim stated that he assumed she was a prostitute and demanded sex from her,” according to the NOPD report. “After she explained she was a Tulane student and not a prostitute, he dropped her off in the 8200 block of Willow Street. The suspect slapped the victim on the buttocks as she exited the car.”

The suspect is described as a bald, 6-foot-tall, 250-pound black man in his 30s with a light skin tone, wearing a Polo-style shirt and dark-colored jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Special Victims Section – Sex Crimes division at 658-5523 to speak to Detective Jessica Williams, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
