One wounded, one killed in shooting in Hollygrove, police say

One man was killed and another person was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon on Stroelitz Street in Hollygrove, New Orleans police said.

The shooting was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, in the 8800 block of Stroelitz Street. A male victim died and a second victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, said NOPD spokesman Gary Scheets.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Homicide Division at 504-658-5300 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
