New Orleans police investigators have released surveillance video of a man wielding a shotgun on his way to and from his robbery of two people Friday morning on Washington Avenue, authorities said.

The victims were both in the 4300 block of Washington Avenue around 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, when the gunman arrived, the report states. He walked up to the first victim, pointed the shotgun at the victim’s head and took a wallet from his pocket, then tapped on the passenger-side window of a car parked nearby and took the driver’s wallet, the report states.

The suspect is described as a thin, 6-foot-tall black man in his late teens or early 20s with “a flat top hair style with little twists … wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue stonewashed jeans, and baby blue tennis shoes with white soles,” the report states. He was driving a dark-colored, newer-model sedan that may have been a Nissan Versa, but no license plate information was available.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
