A man was shot Wednesday afternoon on Carondelet Street, New Orleans police said.

The shooting was took place shortly after 2 p.m. during a “physical altercation” in the 1800 block of Carondelet (between St. Andrew and Felicity streets), according to the initial NOPD report. A shot was fired, and the 18-year-old victim was hit in the back, though his injury was not believed to be life threatening, police said.

Henry Vicknair, 27, was arrested after the shooting, said NOPD spokesman Tyler Gamble. He is charged with a single count of aggravated battery, with bond set at $15,000, according to jail records.
