The shooting took place around 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the 2000 block of Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way (the former Lasalle Street between Josephine and St. Andrew streets), according to a NOPD report.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” the report states. “The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.”
Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Homicide Division at 504-658-5300 to speak to Detective Bruce Brueggeman, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
