The 18-year-old victim was sitting with a friend outside a home in the 8400 block of Stroelitz (near Cambronne) shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, when a brown minivan pulled up, according to NOPD reports. The passenger got out and asked for a cigarette, then started shooting, hitting the victim in the neck, face and shoulder, the reports state.
On Thursday morning, New Orleans police identified the gunman as 20-year-old Jeremy Coco, and said he is wanted on a charge of second-degree murder.
Anyone with information as to Coco’s whereabouts is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
