Man shot on Josephine Street, police say

A man was shot by a rifle-wielding assailant Tuesday night on Josephine Street in Central City, New Orleans police said.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was near Josephine Street and the Rev. John Raphael Way around 8 p.m. when he was confronted by a man “armed with a rifle,” according to the initial NOPD report.

“The subject opened fire and the victim was struck,” the report states.
