Man shot on Hickory Street; woman carjacked on St. Mary, police say

A man was injured in a shooting Friday morning on Hickory Street in Carrollton, and a woman was pulled from her vehicle in an armed carjacking Friday night on St. Mary Street in the Lower Garden District, New Orleans police said.

The shooting was reported around 9 a.m. Friday, March 10, in the 9000 block of Hickory Street, according to the NOPD report. The male victim was taken to the hospital for treatment in a private vehicle afterward, the report states.

Shortly before 8 p.m., a woman in her 50s was sitting in a vehicle in the 1400 block of St. Mary Street when two unknown men confronted her, according to the NOPD report in that case. They pulled her out of the car and drove off in it, the report states.
