A man was robbed at gunpoint on Constance Street in the Irish Channel on Monday afternoon, New Orleans police said.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was near Third and Constance streets shortly before 2 p.m. when he was confronted by a man “wearing all black clothing,” according to the initial NOPD report.

“The subject pointed a gun at the victim and went into his pockets and took an unknown amount of cash,” the report states.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
