Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, a man in his 50s was getting out of his vehicle in the 2800 block of Hamilton Street (near Apple Street) when he was confronted by a man armed with a gun, according to the initial NOPD report.
“The subject put a gun to the victim’s neck and took his wallet, a watch and his car keys,” the report states.
The gunman then got into the victim’s 2013 Kia Sorento (which has Alabama license plate 2BC2572), drove up a block and picked up another man, then left, the report states.
Around 2:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, a 27-year-old woman was stopped at a red light at Camp and Euterpe streets when a dark-colored Toyota pulled in front of her, the report in that case states. A passenger jumped out of the Toyota and tapped on her window with a gun, but she managed to speed away, the report states.
Further details were not immediately available in either case. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
There is no light at Camp and Euterpe. Also unless you are traveling from Euterpe to take a right on Camp there is no way for anybody to “pull up in front” of you. You would have to be about to take a right and then somebody traveling down the one way of Camp would have to be coming down the street and then stop and get out at which point unless you backed up and revised back up Euterpe towards the river to “speed away” you would be blocked. Too many thing do not make any sense here starting with the “red light” aspect which doesn’t even exist. Can somebody please follow up on this?
