Man injured by gunfire in Leonidas neighborhood

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Leonidas neighborhood.

A gunman entered the victim’s home in the 1600 block of Monroe Street, near Birch Street, at about 11:50 a.m. on Monday and shot him three times, once in the leg and twice in the arm, the NOPD report says. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was in stable condition on Tuesday.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 504-658-6020 to speak to a detective, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
