A man riding around with four acquaintances looking for drugs overnight was carjacked by his companions, New Orleans police said Monday morning.

The less-than-fantastic voyage took place around 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, after a man in his 30s picked up four people “he knew on a first-name basis,” and came to an end in the 1300 block of Simon Bolivar, according to the NOPD report.

“They rode around looking for drugs,” the report states. “The victim stopped to put water in his vehicle and two of the subjects got out of the vehicle armed with guns. The four subjects fled in the victim’s white 2001 Lincoln Navigator.”

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
