Lost cell phone leads to home-invasion on Forshey Street, police say

A lost cell phone led to a home invasion and a fight on Forshey Street early Tuesday, New Orleans police said.

Two women found a lost cell phone that belonged to a woman in her 30s, and took it to her home in the 8900 block of Forshey Street around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, according to the initial NOPD report.

“They forcefully entered the victim’s residence,” the report states. A fight ensued, and the subjects fled without returning the victim’s cell phone.”

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
