Two shootings in Central City on Monday left four men injured, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
Four males, including two teenagers, were injured Monday afternoon in a drive-by shooting at Fourth Street and Loyola. On Monday evening, two more men were injured in a double shooting at Jackson Avenue and Willow Street.
In the first multiple shooting, at about 3 p.m. on May 13, a dark-colored sedan pulled up to four men and gunfire erupted, the police report states. Officers responding to a report of gunshots found a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle in the 2100 block of Fourth Street.
A second male victim, who turned 31 on Monday, was discovered in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Two teenage victims, a 15-year-old and an 18-year-old, arrived at the Touro Infirmary emergency room a short time later with gunshot wounds. The victims are reported in stable condition.
In the second shooting, at about 9:30 p.m., officers investigating shots fired in area discovered a 54-year-old man with gunshot wounds to hip. He was transported to hospital by EMS.
A second victim, a 49-year-old man, walked into the hospital emergency room with gunshot wounds to back and shoulder.
The second shooting was initially reported at the 2800 block of Sixth Street. A later police report said it occurred at Jackson and Willow.
