Sewerage & Water Boardcrews, in partnership with Boh Bros. Construction, will be performing an emergency waterline repair in the 8100 block of Panola Street between South Carrollton Avenue and Dublin Street beginning around 9 a.m.
The repair involves closing down a 48-inch water main that supplements the water supply to the Carrollton, Fontainebleau and Uptown neighborhoods resulting in the potential of lower-than-normal water pressure. A map of affected areas is above.
Upper floors of multi-story buildings will potentially see the most impact. Crews will be proactively monitoring water pressure throughout the city, the S&WB said. If pressures begin to dip significantly, the agency said in a press release, crews will be ready to respond and reverse the closure.
This closure was originally scheduled for Feb. 7, but due to the severity of leak and the location, this repair has become an emergency.
Customers who are experiencing low or no water pressure should call the 24/7 Emergency Call Center at 504-52-WATER.
