New Orleans police have released surveillance video related to this weekend’s spree of three carjacking incidents near Freret Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The three incidents took place in the span of a few minutes starting around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. The three suspects, one of whom had a gun, first tried to take a woman’s Toyota Tacoma in the 5400 block of LaSalle Street, but could not start it, the report states.

Moments later, one of the suspects took a white 2013 Yamaha Vino scooter (with Louisiana license plate MC620073) from the 2200 block of Octavia Street, and the other two then took a red 2015 Toyota Rav4 as it was backing out of a driveway in the 5400 block of South Robertson Street, the police reports state.

“The video shows one of the perpetrators fleeing from the 2200 block of Octavia Street on the stolen Yamaha Vino scooter, with the two other perpetrators following on foot,” said NOPD spokesman Aaron Looney late Monday morning.
