Suspect sought in theft of wallet from drugstore counter

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating a man accused of stealing a wallet from a drugstore at St. Charles Avenue and Broadway.

On Saturday, March 2, at around 7:31 p.m., the victim reportedly left his wallet on the counter after making a transaction. When the victim realized his wallet was missing, he went back to the store and discovered that his wallet was no longer at the counter. He contacted police.

During the course of the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage from the business and observed an unknown white male take the victim’s wallet from the counter and remove an unknown amount of cash to pay for his merchandise. The subject then exited the store with the victim’s wallet.

The suspect is described as approximately 20-25 years of age with a medium build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans with multiple Mardi Gras beads around his neck.
