After a woman fought off a rape attempt from a man inside her Prytania Street home last week, New Orleans police have released a computer sketch of the man and are seeking the public’s help identifying him.

The man got into the woman’s home near Prytania and Valence and shortly before 7 p.m. March 11 and said his name was “Randy,” then attacked her and sexually assaulted her, according to a police report on the incident. She bit the man’s fingers and began screaming, and the man fled the home and ran off toward Bordeaux and Perrier streets, the report states.

The suspect is described by investigators as follows: “Black Male, 20-25 years of age, 5’6” in height, approximately 170-180 pounds, dark complexion, heavy acne on cheeks, black blazer, black undershirt, black pants, and black shoes carrying a black back pack, silver boost headphones.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Reuben Henry in the Sex Crimes Division at 658-5523, or to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
