Man fatally stabbed in Milan neighborhood

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing in the Milan neighborhood.

A call reporting the incident was received Monday, Oct. 21, at 5:44 p.m. When responding officers arrived at an apartment building in the 2100 block of Louisiana Avenue, they were approached in the lobby by Terrence Batiste and directed to the fourth floor.

On the fourth floor, they discovered an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The emergency medical service took him to a hospital, where he died.

Police booked Batiste, 36, on Tuesday with the shooting, NOLA.com reported.
