Fix the potholes, streetlights, murder rate, and lack of fortune 500 companies, then worry about landscaping.
Potholes, Potholes, Potholes. Range rovers are suppose to be the ultimate off road truck. They last 30 years in African wilderness. They dont last 5 years uptown with these terrible roads.
I am hopeful that the City can walk and chew gum at the same time. There is no reason that why they cannot fix potholes and promote good urban design. With that said, the Mayor did propose to cut the Public Works budget by 4.5%, which means less money to fill potholes. FYI, Council will vote on the budget on December 1.
What about the old Walgreens building on Carrollton? It looks like its being used as a warehouse now, with children’s murals on it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for children’s murals. Just put them in parks. Not on an important corridor.

The logic is competition brings out the best in a business. It’s no accident that Walgreens got a facelift; its a direct result of competing dollars. And it benefits everyone. Consumers have an improved facility and a choice.
