InspireNOLA Charter Schools achieved impressive academic results for the 2015-2016 school year at all three of the schools that it operates, continuing its status as the highest performing open-admissions charter network in New Orleans and Louisiana.

InspireNOLA’s two foundation schools, Alice M. Harte Charter School and Edna Karr High School, both achieved A letter grades for the second year in a row. Alice Harte’s school performance score (SPS) rose to a 104.3, with 45% of students scoring mastery or advanced on state assessments – far surpassing the district and state averages of 27% and 33%, respectively.

Edna Karr’s 106.9 SPS makes it the #1 ranked high poverty high school in the state. For the second year in a row, Edna Karr achieved a 100% graduation rate and a 67% End-of-Course exam proficiency rate, outperforming the district by 10%.

The most remarkable gains were made by Andrew H. Wilson Charter School, who achieved a C letter grade and whose SPS increased 29.2 points in only one year as an InspireNOLA school! Andrew Wilson increased from an F school with an SPS of 39.7 in 2014-2015 to a C school with an SPS of 68.9 in 2015-2016 – the largest gains of any school in New Orleans.

“The incredible gains made last year at all of our schools is extremely inspiring,” said InspireNOLA CEO Jamar McKneely. “In particular, I’d like to recognize the hard work and dedication of the students, staff, and leaders of Andrew Wilson, who in just one year made an unprecedented almost 30 point increase. This growth demonstrates that all students can – and will – achieve at high levels.”
