The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel will host a concert this Sunday, December 13, to officially reopen the newly-restored church. The event is free and open to the public and will feature the 14th Archbishop of New Orleans, Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond.
The Christmas concert will take place at 4 p.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, located on 1307 Louisana Avenue.
The following New Orleans’ musicians will be featured:
- Sopranos Phyllis Treigle and Melissa Brocato
- Tenors Kevin Rouchell and Bart Folse
- Organist Brian Morgan, Director of Music
- The Good Shepherd Choir will also perform Gregorian Chant
The following composers will be featured:
- Adolphe Adam
- Jehan Alain
- St Alphonsus
- Gregory Hamilton
- Calvin Hampton
- Nicola A. Montani
- Daniel Pinkham
The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel will have its first mass since a forced closure on January 2 at 5:30 p.m.
