Cellphone snatching reported near Tulane University

New Orleans police are investigating an incident of cellphone snatching in an Uptown neighborhood.

On Feb. 20 at 7:36 p.m., a Tulane student was walking on Plum Street when she crossed Broadway and observed three male bicyclists. One of the men broke away from the group and rode up behind her. He snatched her cellphone from her hand at the intersection of Plum and Pine.

The assailant fled north on Pine in the direction of Claiborne Avenue.

The student described him as a black male in his early 20s, wearing a camouflage hoodie riding a bicycle. The other two individuals were wearing all black clothing and riding bicycles as well. Tulane University police officers and NOPD officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the subjects.
