Southern Eye Bank hosts blindfolded bowling fundraiser

On Thursday, July 28, Southern Eye Bank will host the Strikes for Sight Blindfold-Bowling Night, a family-friendly event meant to draw attention to the challenges of corneal blindness and help promote Southern Eye Bank’s mission of providing ocular tissue to those in need. Tickets include lane and ball rental, food, beer, and more.Strikes for Sight will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Rock n’ Bowl, located at 3016 S. Carrollton Ave. Participants will battle it out in the bowling lanes while blindfolded as a way for people to understand the challenges those with blindness face.

Individual patrons can participate for a fee of $38, while a team of up to six people can register for $210. The fee will provide participants with bowling shoes, lane and ball rental, band cover charge, and food, soda, wine, and beer. Live entertainment will feature Lil Nathan beginning at 8:30 p.m.

 

Southern Eye Bank, located in New Orleans, Louisiana is a 501(c) 3, non-profit eye bank that provides eye tissue for transplantation, research and education in Louisiana, the United States and throughout the world. All proceeds for this event will go towards Southern Eye Bank’s community education and eye-donor awareness programs.
