Chef and etiquette expert Carolyn Shelton will host an etiquette class and book signing with Sybil Morial. Morial, widow to the late Ernest “Dutch” Morial, will be signing copies of her book “Witness to Change: From Jim Crow to Political Empowerment”.

The class and book signing will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31 at Poseidon Restaurant, located at 2100 st. Charles Avenue.

For more about “Witness to Change” read its description below:

Sybil’s memoir reveals a woman whose intelligence overrides the clichés of racial division. In its pages, we catch rare glimpses of black professionals in an earlier New Orleans, when races, though socially isolated, lived side by side; when social connections helped circumvent Jim Crow; when African-American culture forged New Orleans–and American–identity.

Light refreshments will be served. To RSVP, contact  Carolyn Shelton at (504)813-1648.

The event is sponsored by Poseidon Restaurant, Crescent City Pharmacy, and Michelle Carrie.
