Woody Koppel was re-elected to the Orleans Parish School Board by a narrow margin Tuesday, along with two other incumbents who will also return to their seats.

Koppel won 53 percent of the vote over challenger David Alvarez to secure his re-election, according to complete but unofficial results in the Uptown-based District 6.

“I’d like to thank the voters of District 6 for re-electing me to a third term,” Koppel said. “I look forward to working with all families in our district to continue to improve our public schools.”

Koppel’s colleagues on the Orleans Parish School Board, Leslie Ellison and Nolan Marshall Jr., likewise won re-election with 68 percent of the vote in District 4 and 54 percent of the vote in District 7, respectively.
