This Week at The Broad brings two new films for your post-carnival enjoyment, and they are rather different from each other to say the least. LOGAN is being described as the last Wolverine film to star Hugh Jackman. But even more than a swan song for a superhero, this is a drama that deserves respect even for those who aren’t into tights and spandex.

Critics are raving not at the spectacle, but the human drama taking place in this installment in the X-Men franchise. We have a couple of sneak previews this evening, so we hope to see a few true believers in the audience.

KEDI is a documentary about cats. Sure we could describe it as such a simple trivial delight, but this film is more than just footage of cute kitties in the beautiful city of Istanbul. This is a film about learning something about ourselves through the eyes of a feline. This film is truly for the cat lover in the family, but don’t feel like you dog people aren’t going to find something to love in this little movie.

GET OUT & I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO stay in our lineup for another week. GET OUT turned out to be the most popular film during the week of Mardi Gras, playing to full houses even while the parades were rolling around the city. This is the film that everyone is still talking about so don’t miss out on joining the conversation and grab your tickets online in advance.

Have you heard the news? $2 Tuesdays will be making their debut at The Broad Theater this April! Our managers have hand-picked four cult films (LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM, WILD AT HEART, BLOODSPORT, BUCKAROO BONZAI) from the days when video stores ruled the world to play for you every Tuesday in April. Two bucks gets you in, and the bar will most definitely be open. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead.

  1. Kedi immerses you in the street vibe of Istanbul. And if you are a cat lover, well… even better. It’s beautifully shot, definitely not a 3 hour YouTube cat video.
