A string of six shootings in the Broadmoor, Carrollton and Hollygrove neighborhoods over the weekend injured a total of eight people — including a woman eight months pregnant with twins — and led to two arrests, but all stem from a series of separate personal feuds, police said Wednesday.

Broadmoor| Two shootings were reported this weekend — Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon — near the same intersection, Louisiana Avenue Parkway and South Roman.
In the Friday afternoon incident, a 17-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the right arm, and said he was shot by a stranger while walking near that intersection, police said.
In Sunday’s case, a 37-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He told police that his son and another man, both in their early 20s, got into an argument, and that he broke it up but was shot while trying to get his son back home. The man identified as the shooter, Quinton Quinn, was arrested, but the victim’s son, Jermaine Rumley, was also seen firing shots as well, and he was charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, said Sgt. Chris Billiot of the NOPD Second District persons-crimes division.
The names of some of the individuals in Sunday’s case were also mentioned in the investigation of Friday’s shooting, Billiot said. “They’re connected, but we don’t know how,” Billiot said.
Hollygrove | Early Saturday morning, a home in the 9000 block of Palm was sprayed with gunshots, and a 20-year-old woman pregnant with twins was hit in the hip by one of the bullets, though the babies were not hurt. The house was riddled with bullets, but she and her boyfriend were asleep at the time and did not see anything, Billiot said.
On Sunday night, two men were shot in the 3000 block of General Ogden Street. One of the victims, a 44-year-old who was shot in the hip, told police that they were attacked by a man with a rag for a mask and a sawed-off shotgun who attempted to rob them, then shot them when they said they had no money. The other victim, who is 51, was hit in the back and was initially described as in “grave” condition, but has since stabilized, Billiot said.
The first victim could not identify the gunman, but police are hoping that once the other victim may have more information once he recovers enough to talk, Billiot said. “It was touch and go for a little bit,” Billiot said.

Carrollton | On Saturday afternoon, police were called to a shooting in the 1800 block of General Ogden, found some shell casings and a freshly mopped front porch at the location, and then were alerted to a 16-year-old victim at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the finger. The victim said he was leaving the house when 18-year-old Romalis Williams came pedaling by on a bicycle while shooting at him, so police were able to arrest Williams, whom Billiot described as a “thorn in our side” in that area, on an aggravated battery charge.
About 1:30 a.m. Sunday, as a crowd was leaving a private event at the “Young at Heart” bar near Birch and Monroe, two men were hit in a drive-by shooting from a silver vehicle. The 61-year-old victim was hit in his lower back just after walking out of the bar, and a 34-year-old man who had been standing in the intersection was hit in the calf as he tried to run away. Neither victim is believed to have been the intended target, Billiot said, but no one could describe the shooters.
