ArtEgg Studios, located at 1001 S. Broad Street, will open its weekly community market called “Marche Créole” this Sunday, December 4. The grand opening event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature “farm to table produce, locally produced food products, artistic works, and culturally interesting goods”.
Marche Créole is a free and open event. The market is sponsored by the Heritage Foundation for Arts and Cultural Sustainability, a 501(c)(3) organization at ArtEgg Studios. For more information, see the full press release below:
Marche Créole is a new market featuring farm to table produce, locally produced food products, artistic works, and culturally interesting goods at the nexus of Broadmoor and Mid-City. It is located outside of ArtEgg Studios, 1001 South Broad Street, easily accessible from I-10, the CBD and Uptown. ArtEgg Studios is a creative community for artists, collectors, nonprofits, cultural entrepreneurs and small businesses located in the Broad Street Cultural Products District.
Marche Créole serves to address the limited food access across the Broadmoor subdistrict and the neighboring communities of South Broad area and Mid-City. Additionally, it seeks to improve sustainability by connecting the residents to farmers and local food producers while providing a safe community space to unite and support local businesses and artists.
The market will be held every Sunday from 10am-2pm beginning December 4th.
Marche Créole welcomes all licensed New Orleans/Louisiana vendors (not wholesale). Anyone interested in becoming a vendor or community partner should contact marchecreole@gmail.com.
