Neighborhood leaders to host roundtable on public safety

A neighborhood leaders roundtable on public safety this Saturday, March 5 will feature Chief Michael Harrison speaking about the NOPD’s new deployment strategy to place 94 more officers on New Orleans streets. The public safety millage on the ballot for voter consideration on April 9 will also be addressed because proceeds from the millage could be used to hire and pay for additional police officers, as well as to pay firefighters pension fund.The public safety meeting will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at the Ashe Cultural Arts Center, located at 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. Registration for the meeting can be completed here.
