The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. on Broadway near Zimpel, and Mayor Landrieu arrived on scene, according to a report by our partners at WWL-TV. Landrieu later said that he stood apart from the crash investigation and that proper protocol will be followed:
His son, Benjamin, was booked into jail around 6:40 a.m. and released about three hours later. He did not speak to reporters, based on video of his booking and release.
It takes a brave person to park their car on the street anywhere near The Boot.
“driving on a roadway laned for traffic”–What does this mean exactly?
Jiang,
They phrased it badly. They meant that he was cited for violating the municipal code article governing “driving on a roadway laned for for traffic.” The article basically says that the proper way to drive in a laned street is to stay in your lane, drive straight, etc.
Not just on the street but in the street, apparently! It’s a teachable moment, perhaps.
Must be a very slow news day.
So why didn’t WWL show the Boot in the story?
