The Lycée Français de la Nouvelle Orléans board will hold a training session on charter-school governance during a retreat scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday at the school’s new campus at 5951 Patton Street, officials said.

The training will be conducted by Marci Cornell-Feist of The High Bar, a national school-management consulting group that LFNO board president Jean Montes suggested hiring in June following a series of disputes within the board.

  1. Are the board members paying for the training themselves, or is the school paying for it? I’m asking because at the last board meeting we were told that the school could not afford to purchase actual cafeteria furniture for the school cafeteria, even though my prek child cannot even climb onto the chair by himself. Instead the cafeteria has corporate boardroom type furniture that is adult sized. I agree that the board needs training, but the essentials must come first.
