The New Orleans Film Society is hosting its annual Oscar party tonight at Prytania Theatre, complete with film trivia and a costume contest. Meanwhile, the society is also looking for supporters to help purchase a screen and projector for an outdoor film series.

“And the Envelope Please…” NOFS Presents Awards Watch Party This Sunday at Prytania Theatre
Join the New Orleans Film Society as we watch the Academy Awards® at the Prytania Theatre (5339 Prytania Street) this Sunday during our annual Oscar Party!
Walk the red carpet in your finest glam garb–or come dressed as a character from your favorite nominated film (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo anyone? Or how about wearing a Bridesmaids dress? Or a Descendants Hawaiian shirt?). Also, be ready to flaunt your film knowledge for Oscar® trivia! Prizes will be awarded to all trivia and costume winners.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: There is a suggested donation of $20 for NOFS members and $25 for non-members. Admission includes complimentary food, beer and wine, small popcorn, and soda. Get your advance tickets online here, or in person at the Prytania box office (5339 Prytania St.)

Outdoor Screening Series “Movies to Geaux” Fundraising Campaign
The Film Society has launched a fundraising campaign to help purchase screening equipment for an outdoor film series called “Movies to Geaux.” While we have secured some funds through a grant from the Louisiana Cultural Economy, we still need to raise $4500 to purchase an outdoor screen, projector, and sound equipment.
