Woman arrested in domestic stabbing

A woman was arrested Sunday morning after an argument turned violent in the Hoffman Triangle area, the New Orleans Police Department reported. Police say Jaclyn Cotton, 43, was arguing with a 44-year-old man at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, in the 2500 block of Miro Street. During the fight, the police report said, she grabbed the man by the neck. When the man grabbed her by the neck to push her off, she pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him in the shoulder and bicep, police said.

Police blotter: Armed purse snatching, stabbing, carjacking

An armed purse snatching, a stabbing during a domestic argument and an armed carjacking were reported to the New Orleans Police Department in Uptown neighborhoods over 24 hours on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday morning, a 66-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint on Magazine Street in the Garden District. A woman armed with a gun forcefully removed a purse from the 66-year-old’s shoulder at about 7 a.m. in the 2800 block of Magazine, according to a police report. The purse snatcher then fled on foot. Suspect arrested in deadly stabbing outside Walmart on Tchoupitoulas

A man who walked into the Walmart on Tchoupitoulas Street on Tuesday evening and collapsed is a homicide victim, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim was stabbed outside the store in the 1900 block of Tchoupitoulas at about 8:15 on Tuesday, police said. Bleeding from the neck, he stumbled into the shopping cart area of the store and died. The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Joseph Gannet. A suspect, Marcus Connelly, 36, was arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder.

A teenager was robbed Saturday night by a man and woman in Central City, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim, an 18-year-old male, was approached by the couple at about 9:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Magnolia Street. The man assaulted the teen while the woman took his wallet. An Irish Channel resident was struck from behind by three robbers while working in her yard Saturday afternoon, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was gardening outside her home in the 900 block of Eighth Street about 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, when she was struck from behind. The blow caused her to fall and hit her head on a planter.

Woman arrested after stabbing incident

A woman was arrested Tuesday in the stabbing of another woman on Washington Avenue near South Claiborne, the New Orleans Police Department reported. Police say Edith Henderson, 56, came to the defense of friend who was arguing with another woman not long before noon on Tuesday in the 2900 block of Washington. Henderson is accused of stabbing the woman, 48, with a nail file or pen after intervening in the altercation. Further details were not immediately available. Woman arrested in domestic battery, theft

The New Orleans Police Department arrested a woman in a domestic battery and theft incident reported Sunday in Central City. Dominique Flot, 34, faces charges of theft, criminal damage to property, battery upon a dating partner and child endangerment, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office. Police accuse her of breaking a window and invading a home in the 2600 block of Jackson Avenue on Sunday, Aug. 25, at about 4:10 p.m., then cutting a 29-year-old man on the hand and wrist with a kitchen knife. According to the police report, she also stole the man’s cellphone before fleeing.

Man stabbed during fight in Hollygrove

A man was stabbed in Hollygrove on Friday night, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At 10:52 p.m. on Friday, June 28, a possibly impaired 49-year-old man showed up at a location in 3000 block of Hamilton Street. He got into a verbal altercation with a 33-year-old man. During the fight, the 49-year-old pushed and stabbed the other man, the police report states. Further details were not immediately available.

Two stabbings reported Monday in Central City

Two aggravated batteries by cutting, one involving a beer bottle and another a knife, occurred just moments apart at different locations in Central City, according to reports from the New Orleans Police Department. In the first, a woman was cut with a beer bottle during a fight with another woman at Erato and South Saratoga streets. The two were arguing just before 12:45 a.m. on Monday, June 24, when one woman produced a beer bottle and used it to stab the 39-year-old victim in the left shoulder, the police report said. She was treated at a nearby emergency room. The suspect is described as light-complexioned black woman, known as Dejanae, who is about 5-foot 6-inches and 175 pounds with long braided hair.
