Police blotter: Two pizza delivery drivers, bicyclist robbed

Two pizza delivery drivers in the Freret area have been held up at gunpoint during the past week, and a 66-year-old bicyclist was attacked and robbed in Hollygrove, the New Orleans Police Department reported. On Monday (May 4), a 51-year-old restaurant employee was trying to deliver pizzas in the Freret neighborhood, but the customer kept changing the address. When the driver arrived at an address in the 5000 block of Loyola Avenue at about 9:40 p.m., he was approached from behind by a man with a gun demanding money. The driver threw the pizzas and some cash at the gunman, who then fled. In the second robbery, occurring Wednesday (May 6) at 11:05 p.m., the deliveryman was rushed by a gunman while getting out of his vehicle in the 5100 block of Willow Street.

Man attacked getting off streetcar at Louisiana

A man was attacked during a robbery attempt Monday morning getting off the streetcar at Louisiana Avenue, the New Orleans Police Department reported. A 45-year-old man exited the the streetcar with another man at 10:19 a.m. in the 3400 block of St. Charles Avenue. The other man knocked him down and attempted to take his wallet. The victim fought off the assailant, and both fled on foot.

Police blotter: Robbery, aggravated burglary

A man was robbed of his bicycle in Broadmoor on Saturday and a four residents in a Dixon area home were assaulted and burglarized on Sunday, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The first incident occurred just after noon on Saturday A 30-year-old man was locking up his bicycle was locking his bicycle in the 3900 block of Washington Avenue, near Broad Street, when he was approached by five men. After one tried unsuccessfully to grab the bike, another punched him in the head. The men then grabbed the bicycle and fled. On Saturday night, the victim saw the man who had struck him.

Three robbery incidents reported within hours on same block of South Claiborne

Two robberies and an attempted robbery occurred late Wednesday and early Thursday on the same block of South Claiborne Avenue, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The first incident occurred in 2000 block of South Claiborne on Wednesday at about 11 p.m. The victim, a 47-year-old man, was knocked to the ground and assaulted by two assailants. They took his wallet and passport before fleeing. About two hours later, at 12:57 a.m., a 52-year-old woman was at South Claiborne and Josephine when a man assaulted her and grabbed her purse. In the same block at 4:38 a.m. on Thursday, a 45-year-old woman tried to buy drugs from two men and a woman.

Man attacked and robbed after getting into car he thought was ride share

A man ordered a ride share on Sunday evening and ended up on the ground in Central City, without his wallet or cellphone. The 34-year-old got into the vehicle on Sunday (Feb. 23) at about 7:55 p.m., thinking it was a ride share he had ordered. The man and woman inside took him to the 1200 block of Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way and pulled him out of the car. The man kicked him in the stomach twice, then stole his cellphone and wallet before fleeing the scene.

Police blotter: Shooting, carjacking, robbery during weekend that includes a homicide

During a weekend that included a homicide in Central City, another shooting, a carjacking in the and a robbery were also reported in Uptown neighborhoods. The shooting took place about eight blocks from a fatal shooting that occurred on the same evening, Sunday, Jan. 26. At 8:52 p.m., about four-and-a-half hours after a man died from gunshot wounds at Washington Avenue and Dryades Street, a man walked into a hospital emergency room with a gunshot wound to his foot. The New Orleans Police Department placed the shooting in the 3300 block of South Robertson Street.

Police blotter: Man injured in drive-by shooting, 79-year-old woman robbed in Hollygrove

A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting on Clara Street on Monday, and a 79-year-old woman was robbed at her Hollygrove home on Sunday, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The shooting victim, a 27-year-old man, was sitting in front of his home in the 3700 block of Clara, near Louisiana Avenue, at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, when a car approached, police said. Someone fired multiple shots from inside the car, striking the victim. He was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Police blotter: 77-year-old robbed in Hollygrove, bank robbed in Milan area

A 77-year-old man was knocked off his scooter and robbed Wednesday afternoon in Hollygrove, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim was riding a scooter at Nelson and Joliet streets at about 12:20 p.m. when he was approached by two men, described as in their 20s, riding bicycles. One assailant knocked the 77-year-old to the ground, and the other grabbed the wallet from his pocket. The victim refused treatment from Emergency Medical Services, police said. Later Wednesday afternoon, the Iberia Bank at 3412 St. Charles Ave.

Weekend robbery victims include driver with flat tire, three teenagers

Two robberies were reported during the weekend in Hollygrove and Leonidas areas. In the first incident, a man was robbed in Hollygrove on Saturday morning by a couple who offered help changing a tire, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim, a 21-year-old male, got a flat tire at Gen. Ogden and Olive streets at about 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21. A man and a woman in a white Mercedes sport utility vehicle stopped and offered assistance.
