Six suspects arrested in narcotics raid

New Orleans police officers have arrested six suspects in connection with multiple narcotics and firearm violations that occurred in the NOPD’s Second District. During ovember, Second District task force officers, along with the Jefferson Parish narcotics division, conducted a joint surveillance throughout the Uptown and 7th Ward area. Following the arrest of the target of the operation, Jeffrey Lipitz, 37, officers obtained a dual search warrant for the 1900 block of Washington Avenue in Central City and the 2000 block of Law Street in the 7th Ward. On Nov. 19, Second District task force officers served warrants that resulted in the arrest of Robert Craig, 23, Devin Harry, 37, Ray Stevens, 33, Nicholas Stackpoole, 38, and Keith Antonio, 38.

Search of Gert Town home nets firearms arrest

The NOPD has arrested a Gert Town man on illegal firearm possession charges. On Jan. 22, NOPD Second District detectives secured a warrant for Darius Tapp, 29, after receiving numerous Crimestoppers tips regarding Tapp being a felon who was in possession of a firearm. Tapp was located on Jan. 26 outside of his residence in the 3300 block of Fern Street.
