Two carjackings and two armed robberies were reported in Uptown neighborhoods over the weekend. A 24-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by three juveniles at Audubon Boulevard and Walmsley Avenue on Sunday (July 10) at 5:10 p.m. The three assailants were quickly apprehended after police chased them on foot. Two armed carjackings occurred just hours apart in the Leonidas neighborhood. In the first, a 60-year-old woman was targeted. She was carjacked by three armed men Friday (July 8) at the 2600 block of Dante Street at 5:50 p.m. The gunmen fled in her 2012 white Buick Verano.

Police blotter: Three vehicles stolen Uptown in 12 hours, and one carjacking attempt thwarted

An armed burglary, a carjacking, a vehicle theft and an attempted carjacking were reported recently in Uptown neighborhoods. Three armed men stormed a Central City home early Wednesday (June 15) and drove off in a car belonging to one of the victims, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At about 3 a.m., the gunmen forced their way into a home in the 3000 block of Loyola Avenue and threatened the two residents, a 39-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man. They demanded the woman turn over her car keys, which she did. The fled in her vehicle, which was later recovered.

Police blotter: 63-year-old woman carjacked in Irish Channel; stabbings reported in Gert Town, Hoffman Triangle

A carjacking, an armed robbery and a stabbing were among the crimes reported by police in the Uptown neighborhoods over the holiday weekend. A 60-year-old man was stabbed in Hoffman Triangle early Tuesday (May 31). The man and a woman were arguing on the 3500 block of Second Street at 12:20 a.m. when the woman stabbed the man in his upper left thigh and fled. The victim was taken to the local hospital. On Saturday (May 28) in the middle of the day, a 62-year-old woman was carjacked in the Irish Channel.

Police blotter: Shooting, carjacking, two robberies

A shooting, carjacking and three robberies were reported Uptown since Friday (April 1). A 49-year-old man was injured in shooting Monday afternoon (April 4). He was fighting with another man at about 3:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of Washington Avenue, near the cemeteries in Central City. The man took out a gun, shot the 49-year-old in the leg and fled. The Emergency Medical Service took the victim to the hospital.

NOPD arrests suspect in armed robbery, attempted carjacking

The New Orleans Police Department arrested Tevis J. Stanton Jr., 20, on multiple charges including armed robbery, attempted carjacking and drug and firearm charges. On Thursday (March 31), members of the NOPD’s Special Operations Division led a fugitive investigation in conjunction with Second District detectives in an ongoing armed robbery investigation. Officers were able to locate Stanton and arrested him in the 1500 block of Saint Philip Street. Stanton was wanted in connection with an armed robbery of a pickup truck and other items on March 22 in the Carrollton area. Three men were robbed at gunpoint at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Fern Street.

Crimes reported this week by the New Orleans Police Department in Uptown neighborhoods include two shootings, an aggravated burglary and the armed theft of two pickup trucks. Double shooting: A double shooting injured a woman and a man in Central City on Wednesday afternoon (March 23). They were walking near Magnolia Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 1 p.m. when gunfire erupted. The woman, who has not been identified, suffered a graze wound to her leg. The Emergency Medical Medical Service brought her to the hospital.

Police blotter: Carjacking in Irish Channel, armed robbery in Carrollton

On Wednesday night (Feb. 16), a woman was carjacked on Magazine Street and, about an hour later, another woman was held up at gunpoint on Oak Street. That attempt, however, was thwarted when the thief failed to start the car. At about 9:20 p.m., a 30-year-old woman was sitting in the backseat of her car on Magazine and Toledano streets when an armed man walked up and ordered her out of the vehicle. The carjacker drove off in her white Nissan Altima with Louisiana license plate 718 EXY.

A shooting on South Claiborne, an armed robbery on St. Charles Avenue, and carjackings on Jackson Avenue and Gen. Ogden Street are among the crimes reported recently by the New Orleans Police Department. The NOPD is investigating an early morning shooting Tuesday (Feb. 15) in the 2100 block of South Claiborne Avenue, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Initial reports show that 6th District officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 1:45 a.m. They found a 23-year-old male with gunshot wounds.

Carjacker runs over victim at Costco gas station

A woman was run over by a carjacker in her own car at the Costco gas station on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 1), the New Orleans Police Department reported. The 45-year-old woman was pumping gas at the Costco in the 3800 block of South Carrollton Avenue at about 2:50 p.m. when a man got in her sport utility vehicle and began to drive off. When she tried to stop him by holding on to her vehicle, she was rolled over, police said. The carjacker fled in the stolen SUV, and the victim was taken to the hospital.
