Police: Carjacking and armed-robbery suspects arrested after chase

Two teenagers’ crime spree took them across town Thursday night, beginning with a carjacking in the Mid-City, followed soon after by a robbery at gunpoint in the Uptown, and ending by crashing their stolen car after a police chase through Audubon, officers said. The night’s events began about 11 p.m. at the intersection of St. Peter and David streets, when a white Honda Accord was stolen in a carjacking, according to an email alert from the New Orleans Police Department. At 12:45 a.m., police said another man had just parked his own vehicle on the 1800 block of Cadiz Street when he was approached by a stranger wielding a semi-automatic handgun who said, “This is a robbery; don’t turn it into a murder.” The man with the gun took his victim’s belongings and left on foot down South Saratoga Street.
